Fed. Claims Court Nixes UAV Patent Suit Against Boeing

Law360, Los Angeles (November 1, 2013, 6:23 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of Federal Claims on Thursday dismissed claims in a complaint accusing the federal government and The Boeing Co. of infringing patents for unmanned aerial vehicle technology, ruling that the court lacked jurisdiction since the dispute was between private parties.

Judge Susan G. Braden said that although the complaint accused Boeing of supplying the federal government with patent-infringing technology, it didn't properly accuse the U.S. of direct infringement through its use or manufacture of the technology.
