Travelers Not Off The Hook For $1M Jury Verdict In UIM Case

Law360, Philadelphia (November 01, 2013, 6:11 PM ET) -- The Pennsylvania Superior Court on Friday upheld a jury verdict obligating Travelers Personal Insurance Co. to pay more than $1 million in damages to an injured policyholder in an uninsured motorists claim.

The three-judge panel found that a trial court was correct in concluding that Travelers handled Brandon Grossi’s claim in bad faith. Although it did slice more than $50,000 from the costs portion of the verdict, its ruling still left Travelers owing Grossi more than $1.4 million, primarily in punitive damages.
