Morgan Stanley Sues Ex-Adviser For Changing Client Records

Law360, Los Angeles (November 01, 2013, 8:41 PM ET) -- Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC on Thursday sued one of its former financial advisers in Connecticut federal court, alleging he falsified telephone numbers for more than 100 clients the day before he left to join another firm. 

In its complaint, Morgan Stanley claims Denis O' Brien violated his employment agreement with the company when he changed the numbers associated with 156 client accounts and took his client contact list with him in order to solicit the clients at his new firm.
