Group Says Ruling Proves Thimerosal-Autism Link

Law360, New York (February 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- An autism advocacy group has hailed a ruling in favor of a child who regressed into autism after receiving several childhood vaccinations containing thimerosal, saying the case proves the mercury-based preservative may cause the developmental disorder in some children.

The ruling, which has been sealed to protect the plaintiff's identify, was rendered Nov. 9 in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. It was revealed to the National Autism Association this week, the organization said.
