Community Input Steers Southern Union's New Criminal Fine

Law360, New York (November 5, 2013, 7:28 PM EST) -- The Rhode Island federal judge who had an $18 million criminal penalty against Southern Union Co. vacated by the U.S. Supreme Court last year handed down a new sentence on Tuesday with the help of community members, ordering the natural gas company to spend $500,000 on environmental programs.
