Intel Chips Away At Fuzzysharp In Patent Infringement Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (November 06, 2013, 10:00 PM ET) -- Intel Corp. scored a big win in its battle with Fuzzysharp Technologies Inc. when a California federal judge ruled Wednesday that two frequently asserted 3-D computer graphics patents owned by Fuzzysharp were too abstract to be patentable.

U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers found that not only do the patents fail the machine-or-transformation test, they don't contain patentable subject matter because their formulas aren't tied to any specific use beyond the broad field of computer graphics.
