Major TV, Film Studios Dismiss Suit Against Lime Wire

Law360, Los Angeles (November 7, 2013, 8:31 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge on Thursday approved a motion from Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp., Viacom International Inc. and other major television networks and film studios to voluntarily and permanently dismiss a copyright suit the companies brought against file-sharing service provider Lime Wire LLC.
The order comes a year after Fox, Viacom, Comedy Partners, Disney Enterprises Inc., Paramount Pictures Corp. and Warner Bro. Entertainment Inc. asked the court to find Lime Wire liable for copyright infringement before the case hit trial, arguing that the company...
