Pa. Regulatory Reviewers OK Air Emission Fee Hike

Law360, Philadelphia (November 8, 2013, 3:36 PM EST) -- Pennsylvania’s Independent Regulatory Review Commission on Thursday approved a regulation that will hike air emission fees by 50 percent, a move aimed at ensuring adequate staffing for air quality permit program operations in the state.

The one-page approval order followed a public hearing in which the five-member board gave the change the go-ahead. Earlier, the board had said it needed more details from the Department of Environmental Protection on how the hike would help the environment.
