Patterson Belknap Dodges Suit Over Developer Family Row

Law360, Los Angeles (November 12, 2013, 6:13 PM ET) -- A New York appeals court on Tuesday tossed real estate developer Eric D. Hadar's claims that Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP and one of its former lawyers had colluded with Hadar's father to seize control of his real estate holdings, finding the law firm hadn't defamed Hadar during court proceedings. 

The five-judge panel reversed Judge Eileen Bransten's January ruling denying Patterson Belknap and former firm partner Clay Pierce's motion to dismiss Hadar's complaint.
