Apple's GarageBand Accused Of Infringing Synthesizer Patent

Law360, Los Angeles (November 13, 2013, 4:55 PM EST) -- Apple Inc. filched the technology that makes the “Jam Session” feature of its Garage Band application run, a California-based software developer alleged in a complaint lodged Tuesday in California federal court.

Seer Systems, a software company that built a computerized synthesizer in the 1990s, said Apple’s Garage Band iOS and OS X applications, which allow users to create songs from a bank of recorded sounds, infringes its U.S. Patent Number 5,886,274.
