JPMorgan Can't Escape E-Commerce Patent Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (November 18, 2013, 4:29 PM ET) -- JPMorgan Chase & Co. lost a bid to ditch a suit that claims the nation’s second largest bank infringed on a Texas-based company’s e-commerce patents, a Texas federal judge ruled Monday.

U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks found that Global Sessions LP, the Austin, Texas-based patent holder, had sufficiently demonstrated JPMorgan knew about its patents when it filed patents of its own for its online banking functionality, according to Monday’s decision.
