Senate To Begin Debate On CPSC Overhaul

Law360, New York (March 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly on Monday to begin debate on a bill that would give a shot in the arm to the federal watchdog that polices consumer goods.

The vote was 86-1 in favor of taking up the bill. But while the White House stopped short of a veto threat, it said it had serious concerns with several provisions in the legislation.
