NY Lawmakers Challenge Anti-Graft Subpoenas In Court

Law360, New York (November 22, 2013, 7:03 PM EST) -- New York's Legislature filed a legal challenge Friday to subpoenas from an anti-corruption panel demanding detailed information about lawmakers' incomes from law firm firms and elsewhere, arguing that the demands are a serious abuse of power.

The filing came on a day when individual Empire State law firms that employ lawmakers in the part-time Legislature also took to court to challenge subpoenas issued by the high-profile investigatory panel tasked by Gov. Andrew Cuomo with investigating corruption in the white collar and campaign finance contexts.
