Orbital Says It Was Legit Rocket Buyer In Antitrust Fight

Law360, New York (November 25, 2013, 4:09 PM EST) -- Orbital Sciences Corp. asked a Virginia federal court Friday to deny rocket engine maker RD-Amross LLC’s challenge to Orbital’s antitrust suit over the purchase of certain rocket engines, saying RDA’s assertions it could not sell the engines to Orbital have no basis in fact.

Orbital filed a brief opposing RDA’s attempt to dismiss a suit claiming that United Launch Alliance LLC — a Lockheed Martin Corp. and Boeing Co. joint venture — blocked Orbital’s access to RD-180 rocket engines by extending its exclusivity agreement with RDA,...
