Qualcomm Draws Scrutiny From China's Antitrust Watchdog

Law360, New York (November 25, 2013, 1:54 PM EST) -- Wireless technology giant Qualcomm Inc. announced Monday that it had become ensnared in an investigation by China's National Development and Reform Commission in connection with the country's anti-monopoly law.

In a brief statement, San Diego-based Qualcomm said the NDRC would be conducting the investigation confidentially, but stressed that it had not so far been formally charged with violating Chinese statutes aimed at curbing monopolies. It also said it would work in concert with the Chinese authorities throughout the probe.
