EU Appoints Digital Economy Taxation Committee Experts

Law360, New York (November 25, 2013, 1:10 PM EST) -- Seven experts have been appointed to study and recommend various methods for taxing the European Union's digital economy, the European Commission announced Monday, and the group includes SAP AG Co-CEO Jim Snabe, Oxford University Centre for Business Taxation Professor Michael Devereux and Ireland Consulate Mary Walsh.

The commission, chaired by former finance minister of Portugal Vitor Gaspar, is expected to identify all current EU problems with effective digital economy taxation, and then prepare corresponding tax initiatives that solve those problems.
