Miss. High Court Won't Revive Eaton Trade Secrets Row

Law360, Washington (November 25, 2013, 3:53 PM EST) -- Mississippi’s highest court on Thursday affirmed the dismissal of power management company Eaton Corp.’s trade secrets lawsuit against rival Triumph Actuation Systems LLC and several former employees, as well as upholding a $1.5 million sanction, ruling both decisions were within the trial court’s discretion.

In a unanimous en banc decision, the Mississippi Supreme Court found that both discovery sanctions awarded against Eaton and the dismissal of the company’s case by the Hinds County Circuit Court were justified based on evidence in the record.
