Patent Dispute Over Tire Monitoring System Settled

Law360, New York (March 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- SmarTire Systems Inc. has settled an infringement lawsuit against automotive supplier Continental Automotive Systems U.S. Inc. over a patent for a wireless tire-monitoring apparatus.

The two companies agreed to resolve their dispute on Feb. 20, and a district court judge signed off on the pact a day later, SmarTire announced on Tuesday. While the terms of the settlement are confidential, SmarTire said that Continental acknowledged that the patent at issue is valid and enforceable.
