ITC To Look At Syngenta's Alleged Infringement

Law360, New York (March 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission announced last week that it will investigate whether Syngenta AG and its subsidiaries are infringing Sumimoto's patent on a chemical used in pesticides, responding to a request by Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd. and its subsidiary Valent USA Corp.

The patent describes the use of a synthetic chemical known as clothianidin, Sumitomo said last Friday. The companies filed their complaint with the ITC on Jan. 29, they said.
