In Bargaining, Deputy Sheriffs Are Policemen: Pa. High Court

Law360, Philadelphia (November 26, 2013, 6:21 PM EST) -- The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Tuesday overturned a Commonwealth Court ruling that the members of the Allegheny County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association do not count as policemen for collective bargaining purposes, ordering the lower court to certify the association under the law governing police officers.
