Pa. High Court Rejects Convicted Ex-Legislator's Appeal

Law360, Philadelphia (November 27, 2013, 2:06 PM ET) -- The Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Tuesday shot down former Pennsylvania House Speaker Bill DeWeese’s bid for an appeal challenging his February 2012 corruption conviction for ordering his state staff to carry out political duties.

In a one-page per curiam order, the high court said that it would not visit the Superior Court’s August decision to affirm the now-imprisoned Democratic politician’s conviction.
