Abbott Accused Of Overcharging Nonprofit $2M For HIV Meds

Law360, Los Angeles (November 27, 2013, 4:45 PM EST) -- Abbott Laboratories Inc. has been hit with a lawsuit alleging it overcharged the nonprofit AIDS Healthcare Foundation by at least $2 million for Kaletra and Norvir, the HIV drugs it owns and markets.

In a complaint filed Nov. 26 in Los Angeles Superior Court, the foundation says it is covered by a federal discount program known as 340B, which provides drug discounts and an insurance billing scheme that support organizations working with indigent and low-income populations.
