NY Voters Back De Blasio Tax Hike On Top Earners

Law360, New York (November 27, 2013, 6:34 PM ET) -- A majority of New York state voters support incoming mayor Bill de Blasio's plan to increase city income taxes on households making more than $500,000 to fund public schools in the city, according to a report released Wednesday by Quinnipiac University.

De Blasio's plan received support from 63 percent of voters across the state, with the strongest support among Democrats and Independents. New York City voters support the plan by a margin of more than 2-to-1. A majority of Republicans polled oppose the plan.
