Sen. Calls For Privacy Protections Amid Amazon Drone Plan

Ed Markey, D-Mass., on Monday continued his privacy crusade against the expanding domain of drones, this time taking aim at Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeffrey Bezos' controversial announcement Sunday that the online retail giant may use drones to deliver packages.

Markey, a vocal opponent of the Federal Aviation Administration’s plan to integrate commercial and recreational unmanned aircraft systems into the nation's airspace by October 2015, on Monday argued for the implementation of drone privacy regulations before such potential plans by Amazon could materialize.
