Ex-Mexican Gov. Accused Of Drug Smuggling, Bribery Scheme

Law360, Dallas (December 02, 2013, 8:18 PM ET) -- The former governor of a Mexican border state was charged with eight counts of conspiracy stemming from an alleged bribery scheme for public works contracts, drug smuggling and stealing public funds, according to an indictment unsealed Monday.

Tomas Yarrington Ruvalcaba, 56, served as governor of Tamaulipas, Mexico, bordering Brownsville and Laredo, Texas, between 1999 and 2004.
