Spain's Conditions On E.ON Deal Illegal: EU Court

Law360, New York (March 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Agreeing with the European Commission, the European Court of Justice on Thursday ruled that Spain's failure to remove conditions it had placed on German energy titan E.ON AG's merger with Spanish Endesa SA was illegal.

“Spain has failed to fulfill its obligations under community law,” Europe's highest court said in a statement.
