Toys R Us Settles Customer Overcharging Allegations

Law360, New York (December 4, 2013, 2:57 PM EST) -- A California judge on Monday ordered Toys R Us Inc. to pay penalties to resolve a lawsuit alleging many of its retail locations in the state overcharged shoppers on thousands of transactions, according to local prosecutors.

The company will pay almost $180,000, including investigation costs and civil penalties, in response to an investigation that found that its Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores had given customers inaccurate prices at check stands at many of its 40 locations in San Diego and Los Angeles, according...
