Insurance Regulation And Legislation To Watch In 2014

Law360, New York (January 01, 2014, 10:08 AM ET) -- As state insurance regulators and federal officials continue a tense power struggle into 2014, insurance attorneys will keep tabs on the Federal Reserve Board's plans for regulating systemically important insurers and state efforts to clamp down on life insurers' use of captives, as well as congressional proposals to transform a soon-to-expire government backstop for terrorism insurance.

Attorneys will also follow legislation that would halt reforms to the National Flood Insurance Program that were required under a 2012 law.
