Australia To Review Competition Laws

Law360, New York (December 04, 2013, 3:32 PM ET) -- Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott announced on Wednesday that the government will launch the first comprehensive review of its competition laws and policies in more than 20 years, citing the need to build the economy and promote investment and growth.

Abbott described the project as a “root and branch review” and said that his office had provided states and territories with draft terms of reference for the review and would soon appoint a formal panel to deliver a report within one year.
