$130B Verizon-Vodafone Deal Gets Green Light From FCC

Law360, Los Angeles (December 04, 2013, 4:33 PM ET) -- Federal regulators have approved a $130 billion deal between Verizon Communications Inc. and joint venture partner Vodafone Group PLC that will allow Verizon to gain full control of Verizon Wireless, the company said Wednesday.

The Federal Communications Commission said it will allow Verizon to have aggregate foreign ownership of more than 25 percent, should it be that high post-closing. The commission also gave its consent to certain pro forma license transfers, according to Verizon.
