United Healthcare Blocked From Booting 2,000+ Doctors

Law360, New York (December 6, 2013, 5:42 PM EST) -- A Connecticut federal judge ruled that United Healthcare Group cannot terminate more than 2,000 Connecticut physicians who are participating providers in its Medicare Advantage plan, saying Thursday that doing so would cause irreparable harm to the affected doctors in violation of their contract.

Judge Stefan R. Underhill's order granted a temporary injunction against United Healthcare, which had allegedly planned to terminate more than 2,000 Connecticut-area physicians from its plans without notice.
