Fla. To Spend $88M For Deepwater Restoration, Gov. Says

Law360, New York (December 6, 2013, 7:08 PM EST) -- Florida Gov. Rick Scott announced Friday that $88 million will be used in 28 proposed environmental and recreational early restoration projects proposed by the state’s trustees to remedy damages from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

BP PLC agreed in April 2011 to provide $1 billion in funds to the natural resource damage assessment trustees for early restoration projects. The 28 proposed projects are expected to use about $88 million of the state’s total allocation of $100 million and will be implemented throughout affected panhandle counties....
