Fla. Gov. Doubles-Down On $500M Tax Cut Pledge

Law360, New York (December 09, 2013, 4:41 PM ET) -- Amid improved economic forecasts in Florida, Gov. Rick Scott doubled-down Monday on his promise to cut $500 million in state taxes and fees as he ramps up his re-election campaign.

The Republican said Florida's latest budget projections put the state in a better position to follow through on his campaign pledge to slash taxes and fees. Last week, state officials unveiled an updated budget outlook showing that revenues in the 2014 and 2015 fiscal years are expected to rise $225.7 million over previous forecasts.
