Fla. Cancer Center Dodges Suit Over Hospital Contract

Law360, New York (December 9, 2013, 8:50 PM EST) -- A Florida federal judge on Monday tossed Boca Radiation Oncology Associates’ suit accusing Comprehensive Cancer Centers LLC of breaching a management services agreement, saying BROA was not a third-party beneficiary of the deal.

In a separate arbitration proceeding, CCC was found liable for early termination of the agreement and paid nearly $7 million in damages to the Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Under that agreement, the hospital — which was staffed by physicians from BROA — provided radiation oncologists to staff the CCC-managed Lynn Regional Cancer Institute West....
