NJ Lawmakers Target Family Status Bias

Law360, New York (December 10, 2013, 2:24 PM ET) -- New Jersey lawmakers on Thursday made the latest push for legislation that would broaden employment protections under the state's powerful Law Against Discrimination to include familial status.

Measures introduced in the state Assembly last month and in the state Senate on Thursday would make it unlawful for employers to fire or otherwise discriminate against someone based on various scenarios involving that person's care or custody of a child.
