Metlife Escapes Class Action Over Life Insurance Overcharges

Law360, Los Angeles (December 10, 2013, 9:09 PM ET) -- A Florida federal judge on Tuesday granted Metropolitan Tower Life Insurance Co.’s motion to dismiss a putative class action brought by a policyholder who said the company overcharged customers on their life insurance policies, holding that the plaintiff’s suit is precluded by an earlier settlement.
