EPA Names 9 Sites To Superfund Cleanup List

Law360, New York (December 11, 2013, 7:07 PM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday tacked on nine locations to its National Priorities List of Superfund sites and proposed adding an additional eight to the bunch, placing former owners and operators on notice that they could be on the hook for cleanup costs.

The new Superfund sites include a former chemical drum recycling facility in North Carolina, a former uranium mine in New Mexico, a former oil refinery in Oklahoma and a municipal and hazardous waste dump in Washington state, among others.
