US Hotel Development Trending Upward, Report Says

Law360, Washington (December 12, 2013, 2:23 PM EST) -- The number of hotel rooms under development in November was up more than 13 percent from the same period last year, according to a report released Thursday, adding further evidence of a post-recession resurgence in the U.S. hotel market.

The total active U.S. hotel development pipeline — representing projects at the planning, final planning or construction stages — comprised just more than 2,800 projects in November, encompassing more than 339,600 rooms, according to analytics firm Smith Travel Research Inc.
