Las Vegas Sands Nixes $30B Spanish Casino Proposal

Law360, New York (December 13, 2013, 6:04 PM EST) -- After more than a year of negotiations, Las Vegas Sands Corp. and Spanish government officials on Friday acknowledged that they would not be moving forward together with plans to establish a more than $30 billion casino-resort industry in Madrid.

Las Vegas Sands said that despite commendable efforts made by the Spanish government and the regional government of Madrid, the company could not move forward with the proposal, according to a statement.
