House Poised To Tackle Tax Code In 2014

Law360, New York (December 16, 2013, 2:42 PM EST) -- Congress' top budget negotiators said Sunday that a recent budget compromise that will avert additional government shutdowns for the next two years could provide a blueprint for tackling tax reform in 2014.

In an interview on Meet The Press, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Patty Murray, D-Wash., voiced support for reforming the nation's tax laws. Ryan indicated the House's tax writing committee will introduce reform legislation early next year.
