GE, Mitsubishi Bury Hatchet Over Wind Turbine Patents

Law360, New York (December 16, 2013, 7:28 PM EST) -- General Electric Co. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. announced Monday that they had agreed to settle numerous patent lawsuits against each other over wind turbine technology, including one in which Mitsubishi was ordered to pay GE $170 million in damages last year.

The companies said in a statement that they will cross-license each other's patents as part of the settlement, but that other terms of the deal will not be made public.
