Jury Spurns Welders' Claim Of Fumes-Illness Link

Law360, New York (March 10, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A jury in New Orleans rejected four plaintiffs' claims that exposure to manganese welding fumes caused their illnesses.

After deliberating for a short time Friday, a jury in the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans, La., ruled in favor of ESAB Group, Inc., BOC Group, Inc. and the Lincoln Electric Co., representatives of the defendants said.
