Senate Confirms Paul Weiss Atty As Homeland Security Chief

Law360, Los Angeles (December 16, 2013, 10:26 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate on Monday confirmed Jeh Johnson, a former Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison LLP partner who served as the Pentagon's general counsel, as head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. 

Johnson, who was nominated for the post by President Barack Obama in October and approved by the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee last month, was confirmed by a vote of 78-16. He will replace Janet Napolitano, who resigned in July to become the new president of the University of California system....
