Security Firm Says Contractor Stole Info For New Navy System

Law360, Miami (December 20, 2013, 6:22 PM ET) -- XTec Inc., a Miami-based manufacturer of sophisticated security and authentication systems, has sued a subcontractor in Florida state court, claiming it misappropriated proprietary information related to technology used by the U.S. Navy.

The Dec. 12 complaint says that Hembree Consulting Services Inc. and owner Larry Hembree used XTec's information and technology and employed another former subcontractor in violation of a nondisclosure agreement to develop an upgraded version of a system it made for the Navy, then made millions after convincing the Navy to replace its systems....
