JPML Allows Home Security Co. To Centralize 4 TCPA Suits

Law360, New York (December 19, 2013, 6:15 PM EST) -- The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation on Monday granted home security company Monitronics International Inc.’s request that several proposed class actions accusing it of improperly calling consumers be consolidated in West Virginia.

The suits allege that Monitronics violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by making telemarketing calls to consumers on the national Do Not Call Registry or to residential or wireless telephones without the individual’s consent, the JPML said.
