Trader Joe's Loses Remainder Of Pirate Joe's Suit

Law360, New York (December 19, 2013, 6:57 PM ET) -- A Washington federal judge on Thursday shut down the remainder of a lawsuit filed by grocery chain Trader Joe’s against a Vancouver man who buys groceries at U.S. stores and then sells them at a Canadian store he named Pirate Joe's.

U.S. District Judge Marsha J. Pechman dismissed the final two claims from the lawsuit — side claims filed under Washington's consumer protection and dilution statutes — 12 weeks after booting Trader Joe's primary charge of federal trademark infringement under the Lanham Act.
