Ex-Microsoft Employee, Pal Charged With Insider Trading

Law360, Los Angeles (December 19, 2013, 8:26 PM ET) -- A former employee in Microsoft Corp.'s treasury department and his friend were charged Thursday in Washington federal court with 35 counts of insider trading in an alleged scheme federal prosecutors say netted the pair nearly $400,000.

Brian Jorgenson, who worked as a senior manager at Microsoft, gave insider tips to his friend, day trader Sean Stokke, prosecutors said. The two used the information to predict moves of the company’s stock and make deals in the market based on those predictions, prosecutors said.
