Weil Steers Another Oracle Buyout In $1.5B Responsys Deal

Law360, New York (December 20, 2013, 12:16 PM ET) -- California tech giant Oracle Corp. on Friday kept alive a two-year buyout spree when it announced on Friday that it would pay $1.5 billion to fold enterprise software company Responsys Inc. into its existing online-marketing holdings.

The purchase piles onto the billions of dollars Oracle has already spent over the past few years to beef up its offerings in order to keep pace with a field of fast-growing rivals that includes Salesforce.com Inc. and Google Inc.
