Biodiesel Industry Urges Congress To Extend Tax Credit

Law360, New York (December 20, 2013, 5:01 PM ET) -- The U.S. biodiesel industry on Friday urged Congress to extend a $1-per-gallon tax credit on biodiesel fuel that is slated to expire on Jan. 1, saying companies are hesitant to hire new employees because the credit is likely to lapse at the end of the year.

In a letter to Congress' top tax writers, the National Biodiesel Board said the tax credit has been an effective policy that has spurred job creation and economic activity at biodiesel refineries since the incentive was first enacted in 2005. ...
