World Bank To Inject $500M Into India Water Project

Law360, New York (January 2, 2014, 4:59 PM EST) -- The World Bank said Monday it will contribute $500 million to India's $1 billion Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project for Low Income States, which is designed to improve piped water supply and sanitation services for about 7.8 million Indian citizens.

The project, which was officially approved by the Indian government's Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Thursday, is intended to improve piped water supply and sanitation services for a number of rural communities in four states throughout the country.
